Description
This feature will trace an offending call immediately after it comes in. The last number that called the phone will be traced. Once the trace is completed, a recording will confirm the trace was successful, and supplies an 800 number for legal action.
Call trace can be performed using Ethernet or Analog phones. Once completed, the trace results (start time, calling party number and called party number) can be identified in CDR records, if enabled.
Implementation
This feature, when enabled by the Service Provider, can be engaged when a harassing call was received. To trace the call, hang up from the harassing caller, lift the handset and press *57.
Availability
This feature must be enabled by the Service Provider and can be used on both Ethernet and Analog phones. |
